MD Sister States Leaders Recognized by National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS)

Two prominent members of MD Sister States, Mendy Nitsch and Ardath Cade, were awarded the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Medallion Award.

The NASS Medallion Award was created to honor individuals, groups or organizations with an established record of promoting the goals of NASS. Cade and Nitsch were recognized for their service to the Office of Maryland Secretary of State John Wobensmith.

Ardath Cade serves as Vice Chair of the Sister States of Maryland organization and has been a fixture of Maryland’s housing and community development committee for over 50 years. Serving under multiple Maryland Governors and overseeing a variety of departments, Cade is the picture of a dedicated public servant.

Mendy Nitsch has served as an advisor and driver of the Maryland Sister States organization for years. Currently the Director of International Programs within the Maryland Dept. of Commerce, Nitsch has helped pilot many international Sister States missions. The award for Nitsch commends her for extraordinary work with the Maryland Sister-States and her stellar efforts within the international diplomatic community. As a fixture of MD Sister States, no one is more deserving of this award.
