Established in 1980, the Maryland Sister States Program is a conduit for the state’s 20 official sister state relationships in China, Liberia, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Russia, Vietnam, Estonia, Brazil, Nigeria (2 states), South Africa, Turkey, Ireland, and Israel.
